About Us

Founded by two friends from MIT in 2005, ScanScout is the web's largest in-stream video ad network, helping top brands engage their target audiences in high performing, 100% brand-safe environments. Our "secret sauce" is our proprietary SE2 technology which analyzes audience behaviors to find the segments advertisers want, and catalogs billions of content data points across our network of sites, allowing us to determine the category and safety of an ad destination before it is served.



Brand Safety
ScanScout employs SE2 Brand Protector™ technology for every ad impression we serve. This means every placement has been verified as non-objectionable to the standards set forth by the advertiser. For more on our Brand Protector technology, go here.
Engagement
We're so sure of SE2 technology's ability to find an advertiser's ideal consumer that we launched the first ever Cost-Per-Engagement (CPE) Overlay ads in 2009. And in 2010, we're the first (and only) ad network to offer CPE Pre-Roll ads, so advertisers only pay when a viewer actually engages with their message. Transparency
The ScanScout Commitment to Transparency:
  • We approve all sites in our network, including syndicated sites, before an ad is ever served
  • We verify the site url at the moment of an ad call to prevent ads from appearing on unapproved sites
  • We shall provide advertisers with a (third-party audited) list of approved sites in our network upon request
